When To Visit
We visited Nassau during June, and the temperature was around 90° fahrenheit or 32.2° celsius. The humidity was very high, so this added to the heat. The temperature is almost the same from June-September, so you have multiple months to choose from. But, Nassau and the Bahamas in general are warm year around, so if you want slightly cooler temperatures, you can visit at any time during the year.
Nassau is most popular during the summer months, so expect more people if you decide to visit then. Cruise ships come through nearly everyday, adding to the growing number of tourists. On our stay in June, there was a noticeable amount of people, so depending on where you want to stay or what you want to do, we recommend planning in advance.
Where To Stay
Picking a location in Nassau may be difficult, as resorts are generally more expensive. We stayed in the Atlantis Resort, and it was great. There are many restaurants, activities, and beaches for you to enjoy. Also, one of the most famous waterparks is connected to the park. The resort is a huge tourist attraction, so if you stay there be prepared for crowds.
Airbnb’s are generally safe in Nassau, but do research on the neighborhood before booking. You should also check reviews from past guests to get feedback on their stay. Important things to look for in regards to safety is what’s the quality of the home you are staying in, is it safe to walk around after dark, and asking the owner for tips and recommendations.
